About Mountain View UMC:
- We will grow in love of
God and
neighbor and self as disciples of Jesus Christ in the Wesleyan
tradition.
- We are a dynamic, active, regional, congregation of around
700 people drawing from Boulder, Broomfield, Lafayette, Louisville,
Rock Creek, Longmont and adjacent areas.
- Mountain View offers three different worship services each
Sunday responding to those seeking a spirit-driven relationship to God
in Jesus Christ.
- We offer an intergenerational Christian education program,
including Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, study groups,
discipleship classes, summer camps, and age-group activities throughout
the year.
- Opportunities exist for spiritual growth and development
in ChiRho small groups featuring friendship, Bible study, mentoring,
use of spiritual gifts, and support.
- An active youth and student program called “Crossfyre” is
offered for high school juniors and seniors. We also embrace a
supportive relationship to college-age youth at the Wesley Foundation,
University of Colorado.
- We are a community strongly committed to serving others
through programs of outreach, service, and mission on the local,
national and global levels.
- Mountain View offers an extensive ministry of music for
all ages which enriches the Sunday worship services, and includes
special cantatas and pageants during the year.
- Our church offers special programs and service
opportunities through United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men's
groups.
Welcome to the way of the witness
Primary mission of the church: To make disciples—persons who
follow the way of life and teachings of Jesus Christ and who are
willing to publicly profess their faith.
Mission of Mountain View UMC: A commuity joined together in
faith, welcoming people with love, and growing in the Spirit of Jesus
Christ.
Our Vision: We will grow in love of God and
neighbor and self as disciples of Jesus Christ in the Wesleyan
tradition.
Staff Vision: That we would be a church that practices
hospitality (welcome); helps develop sustainable spiritual growth in
each ministry participant through community (way); and is a witness of
God’s compassion through Christ in the world (witness.)
The church is built on relationships: With God, through Jesus
Christ; with others, inside and outside the church; and with ourselves.
Assumed value: We are, and wish to remain, a
multi-generational church with six active generations present and
participating.
