Music at Mountain View UMC Chancel Choir The Chancel Choir of Mountain View
United Methodist Church has over 30 voices, and sings in worship each Sunday
at the 10:30 a.m. service. The choir sings a wide variety of repertoire, from
Gregorian Chant to contemporary sacred pieces, including Brahms and Moses
Hogan, and is a non-auditioned group open to new members. Our choir director,
Alejandro Gómez-Guillén, is working on his Master’s in Music at the Children’s
Music Program The
Children’s Choir meets at 10:00 on Sundays. Performances are held
throughout the school year, usually during the 10:30 worship service. We
have recently expanded our children’s music ministry by offering a
Junior Choir (grades 5-8) that meets on Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m.
Both choirs are under the direction of Dale Heidebrecht, who is working on
his Master’s in Conducting at CU. Handbell
Choir The choir rings on nearly five
octaves of handbells and three octaves of hand chimes. The choir rehearses Tuesday
evenings and participates in worship at least once a month. Reading music is
the only requirement for joining the choir. Direction by Kim Hughes,
organist, and graduate of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Call the church
office if you would like to join us. Flute Ensemble We currently have 5 participants in
our Flute Ensemble. They perform once a month at the 10:30 service. Musical Events |
